Michael James Opticians has been in business since 1995. The practice, on the pedestrianised precinct of Boothferry Road, has seen a great deal of change since husband and wife team Karen & Garrey Haase took over in 2005. Karen Haase, a qualified Dispensing Optician and Garrey, a professional Optometrist are certainly specialists in their field with over 30 year’s experience between them. When it comes to running the business they naturally have a very clear vision of the type of practice they want to offer to their clients!

Michael James Optician’s top priority is the thorough care of their clients eyes and Garrey has invested in advanced equipment and testing methods. "I have changed a lot of the clinical equipment since we took over. The most exciting addition to the clinical side is the introduction of the Optical Coherence Tomography Machine. This machine will take a 128 point scan of the back of the eye and re-build this as a visual 3-D image. This enables acurate assessment and diagnosis of many ocular conditions".
